Dr. John Lind, General Dentist

Dr. Lind was born, raised and educated in the city of Brantford, and attended the University of Western Ontario to complete his Bachelor of Arts degree in Science. He was fortunate to be chosen as one of eight students (out of a field of 2,500) to form the first class of the newly formed faculty of Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario and graduated from the new faculty in 1970.

After university, Dr. Lind and his wife Karen returned to Brantford where he established a sole practice in Dentistry at 51 Nelson (a building which was owned by his father and in which Dr. Lind himself was born). He also assisted in establishing the Department of Dentistry at the Brantford General Hospital for which he was chief for several terms and maintained hospital privileges for 45 years.

Dr. Lind is committed to education, and in addition to taking extensive courses to maximize his abilities in oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics and implantology, he has also served as a clinical lecturer for dentistry at the University of Western Ontario.

Dr. Brian DeMontmorency, General Dentist

Dr. DeMontmorency (Dr. D) was born in London Ontario to parents that had their roots in Brant County and in the farming industry. Eventually, the family was able to return to Brantford in 1970, at about the same time that Dr. Lind established his dental practice, and the future Dr. D became one of Dr. Lind’s first patients.

Dr. D attended Centennial Public School, North Park Collegiate and The University of Western Ontario, completing his education with a Degree in Dental Surgery. During Dental School, he enlisted as an Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces and spent many summers in his undergrad learning skills in Military Dental Clinics. Upon graduation in 1983, Dr. D and his wife Nancy were posted to Cornwallis Nova Scotia for two years, and that followed with a posting to Gander Newfoundland.  While in Newfoundland, Dr Lind contacted Dr. D to offer him an opportunity to move back to Brantford and practice dentistry. Dr. D was a well respected member of the Canadian Armed Forces, but with a family on the way, in 1987 they decided to move home, where Dr. D has been an active part of the practice at 51 Nelson Street since.

Apart from work and family activities, Dr. D enjoys an active lifestyle that includes golfing, skiing, snowshoeing, biking and puttering in the garden.

Dr. V.S. Grewal, General Dentist

Born and raised in “The Hammer” (Hamilton, Ontario), Dr. Grewal completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Guelph as a graduate on the Dean’s Honours List. Considering Dentistry as a “perfect balance between Art and Science,” Dr. Grewal decided to pursue his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in Washington, DC and ultimately completed his postgraduate training in Dentistry as Chief Resident from Seton Hall University School of Graduate Medical Education in New Jersey.

During his years of education, Dr. Grewal had the privilege to be selected for a research externship at the prestigious Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City. The experience proved invaluable for Dr. Grewal as a published clinical author [Bisphosphonate-associated osteonecrosis: a clinician’s reference to patient management, Today’s FDA: Official Monthly Journal of the Florida Dental Association 2008, 20 (8): 38-41, 43-6].

After obtaining his National Board Dental Examination certifications in both the US and Canada, Dr. Grewal went on to serve as Director of Dentistry at St. James Mercy Hospital in a charming town, just south of Rochester, New York. He later decided to return closer to his ‘roots’ where he enjoys serving his community as an advocate for oral health as it relates to overall health.

In his spare time, Dr. Grewal enjoys cheering for the Raptors and is an avid Boxing fan with an extensive background in Martial Arts.
